School Profile

Longest Elementary School serves students from entry level primary up through 5th Grade. We are located in Powderly, KY, just off Highway 62, and we provide an educational home for students from a number of rural areas in Muhlenberg County. LES draws students from the northern part of the county, the Graham and Powderly communities. Our teaching staff has high expectations for our students and we work with each student to achieve the highest of standards. We care about each child and want to provide the skills they need to be successful at the next level, because we believe all children can succeed. Another major component of our successful school is our continued focus on school culture and our belief if we create a positive caring environment, students will enjoy their time at school and it will increase their levels of learning. LES will be incorporating a Positive Behavioral Instruction Plan that will help students understand what behaviors are appropriate and what they need to do on a daily basis to be successful future leaders.
